Objectives
Objectives
Present in-depth elements regarding the agents and conditions shaping intrenational relations. Study conceptions of international society and its characteristics. Contribute to understanding, interpreting and predicting the behavior of international relations actors, especially states. Prepare students to perform functions in governmental bodies, multinationals and governmental or non-governmental organizations,particulary the European Union and the CPLP states.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
Classes consist of theoretical exposition and debate with students. Practical exercises are supported by readings. During each work session, the instructor indicates the subject matter and presents the main issues. Students are strongly encouraged to participate. Elements of study best suited to the understanding of each session are made available by the instructor. Continued, ongoing evaluation is fundamental for success. Thus, the following are grading ponderation is used: a) two tests graded on a scale from 0 to 20. c) the final grade is the sum of the results obtained in the various evaluation moments. d) two tests, each worth 40% of the final grade and 20% for class participation.
