Speaking of the 'arts' in the plural correspond to recognize that in contemporary times, the arts have escaped the categories and codes that delimited them, while they spread throughout the whole experience. The reasons for this are multiple, including technological and cultural order. The apprehension of this phenomenon goes, first, by understanding the place of art in modern times and its subsequent trajectories, since modernism and the avant-garde until the so-called as post-avant-garde. Second, you need to map the main forms of contemporary art, with particular attention to how broke through to and / or expanded their historical contex.
