Research Methods is a discipline that offers investigative instruments and methods applied to Art-Based Research projects and is crucial for creating master's reports on animated film projects (in its strategy, methodology, review of proximity speeches and art works, etc); but also in the preparation of audiovisual projects in the practice of animated cinema, whether in the development of a project in a studio context or in the preparation of applications for public funds or international markets.

- Thought and examples of Art-Based Research; - Structuring a report on an animated film project (reflections; schematization of production methods; cataloging of materialities produced; review of discourses and artistic practices of proximity; critical review); - Bibliographic science: Methodology for research/investigation; Information sources/systems. Citations and bibliographic references and other documentary collections; Paraphrase; Plagiarism; Paratextual elements; Source referencing methods/systems. - Formatting and automations in Word and InDesign Software (indentation, styles and table of contents)

Teaching methodologies and assessment
Teaching methodologies and assessment
– Theoretical exposition with practical examples, followed by the analysis of the investigation of the students' individual projects; – The evaluation of this module considers the master’s report animation projects carried out by the students, as well as the oral discussion about them, between the teacher and the students, in a proportion of: 50% for attendance and participation in class; and 50% for the personal project “work in progress” report, in weekly updates and the “as complete as possible” version in the end of the semester; – The exam will consist on the delivery of a critical essay on the subject related to the student's animation project (maximum 2500 words, minimum 1500, rigorous citation and indication of bibliography and other sources).
