    Teaching methodologies and assessment

The curricular unit adopts a face-to-face teaching methodology and active learning and will be taught in the form of lectures with written examples on the board, calling for active student participation, followed by applied exercises and practical classes with laboratory work and seminar presentations with discussion of more specialised topics and interactive debate with the students to provide an overview of the important concepts of reactivity in organic and inorganic chemistry. Support material, exercises and experiment protocols are made available to students. The lectures and practical classes have a dual character: expository and applied.  Students are encouraged to take part in solving and discussing problems in class in order to consolidate their knowledge, apply concepts and reaction mechanisms. The laboratory classes will allow students to apply the concepts of synthesis in an experimental environment (Hands-on).
