The topics of interaction and communication as a basis for effective teaching are identified as a priority in the Course since these are basic concepts in the education of students with in the Cognitive and Motor disorders. Participants should, therefore, acquire intervention skills in the area of ¿¿Communication and Language disorders related to students with severe communicative disorders. Participants should also acquire basic knowledge related to the use of nonverbal communication resources as well as Augmentative Communication Technologies

Introduction to Communication and Language. Communication and Language Disorders and Communicative Dysfunction. Intervention resources in ¿¿communication and language. Quality communication partners as a basis for successful communication and learning. The use of high and low technology in interaction with students without oral language. Examples of available AAC technology: relating AAC resources to student's needs. Video examples.

Objectives
Objectives
Understand the importance of communication in the development and learning of students with neuromotor and communicative disorders. Develop interaction processes using Augmentative Communication Systems suitable for the student. Provide students with adequate resources of Augmentative Communication and Support Technologies in all activities of their daily life, in order to facilitate school and social inclusion. Identify skills in students with neuromotor and communicative disorders and provide high and low technology materials that facilitate access to communication and access to writing using computers.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
Teaching methodologies and assessment
The classes will be theoretical and practical, with examples of activities that use augmentative communication and support technologies. Videos with examples of students using Augmentative Communication will be presented and discussed. Participants will have the opportunity to create a database where Augmentative Communication technologies are identified as a support for future interventions. Assessment is based on a case study presented in class and discussed in group, and two reflections related to individual learning during the classes and after the case study discussion.
