The Curricular Unit of Styling seeks to fit the students in one of the activities that can be developed by the Fashion Designer. To do Styling it is necessary to master a wide range of knowledge that can differentiate the work done. Fashion Culture, Photography, Trends, are some of the areas that influence the styling work. Students will be asked to carry out different styling exercises such as personal styling, catalogue styling, runway and exhibition styling, lookbooks, etc. Brand campaigns will also be studied from the perspective of the work to be done by the stylist as a member of a multidisciplinary team.

1 - Introduction to the study of collections and trends: - Analysis of the consumer society and the role of fashion as an element of action; - Analysis and research on fashion shows, designers, brands, trends, photographers, makeup artists, hairdressers (national and international); 2 - Organization and research: - Glossaries and terminologies of fashion: Styling, Inspirations, Mood, Shooting, Contact sheets, Locations, Callsheets, etc .; - Analysis of editorial productions, magazines, catalogs and advertisements; 3 - Elaboration and definition of concepts: - Inspiration (mood and concept); - Feasibility analysis of the concept as final image; - Preparation and structuring of astyling exercises or photographic productions; 4 - Definition of the process of Styling: - Concept definition, development and structuring; - Styling, Make up and hair; -The Photographer's choice; - Image / concept and final production.

Objectives
The objectives of the UC are - Identify the different designers, collections and trends; - Identify and establish different forms of styling, according to the object of work (runway, editorial, advertising, catalogues, etc.); - Establish priorities and elaborate Storyboards with Moods, Locations, to interact with a work team (photographers, hairdressers, make-up artists, clients, scenarios, etc.) - Develop concepts and visual looks (styling), or object compositions (still lifes) according to a trend; - Conceptualize images and establish strategies as a form of interactive and critical communication to society through the power of an image and the visual, sensory and emotional impact it has - Know the functions inherent to each element that can integrate a work team for fashion production. - Stimulate the understanding of the phenomenon of "creation" of products (in the area of Fashion Design and Textile) and its evolution.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
Various important aspects of Styling will be focussed on through visual and exemplary presentations. The work proposed for assessment will be carried out in the classroom and monitored by the teacher, but should include some time for autonomous work. The type of work is essentially practical, involving research, planning, organisation and execution. Student-centred teaching and learning by doing are encouraged, with the teacher facilitating learning.
