The course Research Seminar has a main objective to support master's students in defining and developing their research work leading to obtaining a master's degree. To this end, students will develop their dissertation projects, systematizing the processes of literature review, problematization, design and application of methods.

1. From the initial research question and pre-project to the research project. 2. Scientific paradigms, assumptions, and scientific frameworks. 3. Bibliographic research, referencing/citation, and literature review. 4. Defining the problem and research questions. 5. Methodology: social science methods. Research ethics. 6. Methodological design. 7. Data collection and analysis, pilots.

Objectives
- Ability to define and prepare own research projects within the interdisciplinary field of Communication in Organizations; - Expansion of knowledge regarding the conceptualization, planning, development, execution and evaluation of research in the area of ¿¿Communication Sciences; - Exercising critical thinking and scientific and academic discussion skills; - Reinforcement of skills for designing, operationalizing and executing research processes; - Training for communicating scientific and academic work, in oral and written formats.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
The course combines lectures with case discussions, scientific literature, student workshop work, and peer-to-peer discussion. Exposure to research projects at different levels (master's, doctoral, and research projects) provides exposure to reflection on completed and ongoing processes, critique, and debate.
