    This curricular unit aims to promote theoretical and practical knowledge on psychological intervention with young and adult offenders. The syllabus presented was selected and organized in order to promote sustained learning, but also because it is important for students to continue their studies and later develop their professional activity. The syllabus will be taught through the use of a variety of methodologies, in order to promote the understanding of theoretical knowledge and the necessary practical training.

    LO1: Recognize and explain the framework and conceptual issues related to intervention with offenders; LO2: Recognize and apply theoretical and practical knowledge about therapeutic models and the process of change with offenders; LO3: Recognize and apply theoretical and practical knowledge about theories, techniques, and intervention programs with offenders; LO4: Recognize and understand the specificity of intervention in specific types of crime LO5: Apply and integrate theoretical and practical knowledge in the intervention with specific cases. LO6: Reflect critically on ethical issues in intervention with offenders.

    Teaching methodologies and assessment

    The syllabus will be taught using a variety of methods, namely ME1: Oral exhibition with the support of audiovisual materials; ME2: Interactive dialogue; ME3: Practical small group activities in the classroom; ME4: Peer feedback; ME5: Feedback by teacher; ME6: analysis and resolution of practical cases. The UC adopts Continuous Assessment and independent assessment of the theoretical and practical components. Assessment instruments in the theoretical component: two individual written tests, each with a weighting of 30% in the final grade; weighting of the theoretical component in the final grade: 60%. Assessment instruments in the practical component: practical work, with two specific elements - individual defense (10%) and report (30%). A rating of not less than 9.5 in both components is mandatory for approval. Students without approval can take the exam at the time of appeal.
