Depending on the theme chosen for the development of the research work, within the scope of the elaboration of the Scientific Dissertation in Museology, the student is given the option to choose between the following lines of investigation defined for the 2nd cycle: Museological Theory Museology and Cultural Policy Museology, SSME, Quality and Evaluation in Museums Museographies: Documentation, Conservation and Expography, Cultural and Educational Action Museology and New Technologies Musealization and Society: Expressions of Memory, Ethnographic Collections and Archeology Local Museology, Heritage and Social Representations The lines of investigation are duly described, defined according to the curriculum content and are coordinated by duly qualified teachers. In justified situations and the quality of coordination is ensured, new lines can be created.

Objectives
The dissertation must essentially guarantee the respect for the objectives treated in the Dublin Descriptors 1) the capacity for analysis and synthesis; 2) the ability to learn; 3) the ability to solve problems; 4) the ability to apply knowledge; 5) the ability to adapt to new situations; 6) concern for quality; 7) the ability to work with information; 8) the ability to work independently and in groups.
