Class Thesis I

In this academic unit, the student develops, under the supervision of their advisor and co-advisor (if applicable), all the phases of theoretical framing, refinement of the research protocol, and fieldwork related to their thesis project.

Given the characteristics of the curriculum unit, the "contents" are constituted by the theme and problem of the research project leading to the doctoral thesis, and by the completion of its stages. The work is tutorial aiming at the thesis development, focusing on theoretical framing, methodological approach, and field work.

This Course Unit aims to train the doctoral student in various stages of the scientific process. By requesting students to present their work in poster format during a mini-congress, and subsequently conduct an oral evaluation accompanied by a report, we are providing students with the experience of developing and disseminating science. The mini-congress also offers the opportunity for interaction between students from Thesis I and those from the 1st year, thereby facilitating the continuity of research lines.
