Presentation
The RSUP is transversal and wide-ranging in nature and will enable dialogue between the different areas, constituting an important nucleus and driving a useful discussion for the students' research path, promoting greater dynamism in their involvement with ongoing research projects and, just as importantly, providing more direct contact with the teaching staff and researchers to promote a more assertive choice of supervisors.

Objectives
Objectives
In the Urbanism Research Seminars, the themes associated with the defined research areas are addressed, allowing doctoral students: contact with the subjects, exploring the relationship between them and with their research interest; contact with the research projects under development, and the possibility of integrating doctoral students into the respective teams; contact with the professors of the study cycle, promoting a more assertive choice of supervisor. The Seminar aims to provide students with a moment of reflection and sharing, as well as promoting debate on the research project of each doctoral student, exploring the issues in question in a shared way with the participation of the teaching staff and invited specialists. This course will also promote the ability to communicate research results, encouraging dissemination through participation in and organisation of scientific events.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
Teaching methodologies and assessment
The classes (modules) in seminar format are aimed at transversal reflection on the defined research areas, allowing contact with different aspects related to urbanism and their integration into the research to be carried out by the students. Contact with the doctoral programme's lecturers and other guests is encouraged, promoting effective knowledge of the services and support to be provided, which is also important when choosing a supervisor. Participation in scientific events (including organisation) is encouraged, as is participation in ongoing research projects. Assessment is carried out through a global (transversal) report on the sessions given, relating them to the research topic to be developed. Participation/organisation in scientific events and research projects will also be assessed. The specifics will be duly informed in the PhD Manual.
