  • Objectives

    Objectives

    Define maintenance the different types and associated costs;
    Know and analyze the goods or equipment and their maintenance problems;
    Clarify fundamental rules and concepts in maintenance;
    Develop a maintenance management process for equipment, facilities and buildings;
    Develop plans for maintenance, diagnosis and management of the life cycle of equipment;
    Understand the importance of supplying and managing the maintenance support warehouse;
    Improve the operational and financial performance of maintenance;
    Know the evolution of the concept of maintenance and the new aspects of its management;
    Know the new challenges of implementing maintenance concepts centered on Efficiency
    and/or Effectiveness, such as Lean and Six Sigma.

     

  • Teaching methodologies and assessment

    Teaching methodologies and assessment

    Classes are theoretical-practical. In the theoretical parts, the concepts, principles, and theories essential to maintenance management are presented.
    In the practical parts, the debate is promoted on case studies that illustrate the matter covered in the theoretical classes, as well as the individual works that will be later presented and discussed.
    Also, in the practical parts, students are placed before situation studies for the identification and development of skills associated with maintenance management.
    The evaluation of students is carried out in accordance with the university's evaluation regulations and, with the following evaluation moment: Group Work (TG), up to 3 students, 90% presented in class (60% for the presentation and 40% for the discussion) and attendance 10%.
