    Schedule

    Classes - Face-to-face: Saturdays, from 9am to 1pm and 2pm to 4pm - Distance learning: Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 6.30pm to 9.30pm (some Saturday classes are planned to be distance learning) Fieldwork - Student presence in a school context to monitor the practice of a special education teacher, as part of the Project Component of specialised training in special education. Fieldwork hours are included in the Research and Action Seminar in Inclusive Education course and take place on days and at times to be defined by the student, in agreement with the course lecturer.

    This postgraduate course focuses on training special education professionals and teachers to support children and students with Learning and Inclusion Support Measures The course conceives of Inclusive Education as a fundamental right of all students, who must be welcomed and respected in their diversity, regardless of their condition. It is based on values such as social justice, respect for diversity and collaboration, as well as principles such as the common good and equal opportunities, which guide an equitable and inclusive education. It has a highly qualified teaching staff with an international calibre. With a duration of 6 months, the online and face-to-face classes combine pedagogical and technological innovation and make it possible to combine studies, work and personal life.

    - holders of a bachelor's degree or legal equivalent; - holders of a foreign academic degree awarded following a 1st cycle of studies organised in accordance with the principles of the Bologna process by a State adhering to that process; - holders of a foreign higher academic degree that is recognised as satisfying the objectives of a bachelor's degree by the statutorily competent body; - holders of an academic, scientific or professional curriculum that is recognised by the statutorily competent body of Universidade Lusófona - Centros Universitários Lisboa e Porto as attesting to their ability to undertake this course.

    Knowledge, abilities and skills to be acquired

    The aim is for trainees to develop knowledge, skills and attitudes that will enable them to develop: 1. Critical Analysis Skills: - Appropriating scientifically-supported fundamental concepts on Special Education and Inclusive Education. - To base decision-making, within the scope of their professional speciality, on research and innovation processes. - Conceive of inclusion as a process of identifying and removing barriers to the presence, participation, learning, integral development and sense of belonging of all. 2. Intervention Skills: - Adapting the curriculum, content, strategies, methods and learning environments to promote access, permanence, participation, integral development and progress in the common curriculum for all students. - Participating in the design and development of inclusion-promoting projects and interventions that respond to students' characteristics, potential and needs. - Designing, implementing and evaluating curricula and intervention processes that are flexible, innovative and facilitate learning and participation, with the aim of inclusion. 3. Training, Supervision and Evaluation Competence: - Being part of training, supervision, assessment, intervention and support teams for learning and inclusion in educational, social and community contexts. 4. Consultancy skills: - Supporting schools and other educational, social and community organisations in the design and implementation of educational and curricular projects that promote inclusion, with particular attention to students with specific educational needs in the cognitive and motor spheres. - Advising and supporting the training centres of school associations and other training bodies in the planning and implementation of professional development programmes for teachers throughout their careers. Transversal competence: - Developing an ethical and reflective attitude, based on values such as social justice, democracy and respect for diversity, and on principles such as the common good and equal opportunities, assuming attitudes of empathy, collaboration and social responsibility in promoting a more equitable and inclusive school and society.

    • Continuing studies Possibility of continuing studies towards a Master's degree, with the advantage of obtaining equivalence to several of the UCs of the Master's in Special Education: Cognitive and Motor Sciences, currently running at the University Centre of Lisbon.
