The CRTT curricular unit consists in the practical application of the creation of itineraries according to the methodology Type I and Type II, fulfilling all the process of building a Tour or Circuit. The territory covered is mainland Portugal but the methodology is applicable to any other territory. The domain of these practices and knowledge is essential for any professional tourist information or tourism technician who wishes to build a tourism product.

- Definition, types, classification and characterization of itineraries and circuits2. The bases for the development of Itineraries and Tours.
- Sources, Evaluation and Selection of resources and tourism products.
- Cartography, Timings, Components and essential considerations to the success of the Survey and Itinerary.3. Surveys elaboration
- Introduction to the elaboration of Thematic and Generic Surveys in Continental Portugal
4. Methodology for the presentation of a Type I itinerary
- Examples of Itineraries, analysis and construction
- Identification and solution of the most common mistakes in the construction of itineraries5. Methodology for the presentation of a Type II Itinerary

Objectives
Mastering the terminology related to Itineraries and Tour Circuits.
Identify and master sources and tools for the development of Itineraries and Tour Routes.
Recognize and identify products and national tourism resources and others with potential to explore, as well as the various thematic aspects that promote the sustainability of Portuguese tourist resources.
Design and Implement Itineraries and Tour Circuits through the techniques and methods acquired.
Plan and design tours and tourist circuits.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
- Teaching of theoretical and practical lessons and simulated practice of construction of itineraries;
- Organization and development of itineraries and tours;
- Simulation of the creation of Itineraries under Tourist Programs.
- Group/individual work done and presented by students.
There are two moments of written assessment: the written individual test that refers to the theoretical-practical component and the written individual work that reports to the laboratorial practice.The final mark is the weighted average of the various elements of assessment.
Written exam: 50%.
Individual work: 50%.
