This curricular unit aims to deepen students' knowledge of models, processes and tools to support decision-makers in structuring and exploring decisions characterised by the complexity of their context, multiple objectives, uncertainty and differences of opinion. More specifically, students will learn to:
- structure complex decision problems and delimit them into analysable portions;
- integrate objectives and preferences of different decision-makers into the decision support model, by bidding for information on subjective preferences.
- include uncertainty in decision support models and test assumptions with sensitivity analyses, understanding the existence of limitations to decision-making;
- analyse real examples of applications of decision analysis and decision conferences in organisations;
- select and use IT tools for decision support, promoting consensus between different decision-makers.
