Lusófona University Applies for the International Eco-Schools Programme
Involving the entire academic community by implementing improvement and environmental awareness actions.
30.03.21 - 00h00One of the primary environmental goals of Universidade Lusófona is to make the campus greener and more sustainable. In this regard, over the past few years, the University has implemented several environmental measures, such as setting up recycling points, installing a self-consumption production unit, and promoting awareness campaigns aimed at changing attitudes and behaviours.
In this context, the University aims to introduce additional environmental measures and enhance the sustainability of the campus. To this end, the Faculty of Engineering formally applied to the Eco-Schools programme in 2021. This project is managed by an Eco-Council made up of students, staff, and faculty from the Faculty of Engineering and the University’s central services, under the coordination of Professors Joana Lage and Elisabete Maurício.
The aim is to engage the entire academic community through the implementation of improvement and awareness-raising actions. Throughout this semester, various initiatives will be undertaken, involving the active collaboration and participation of students, staff, and faculty. The main areas of focus will be energy, water, waste, outdoor spaces, and air quality.
