Lusófona University Continues Campus Composting Project
Eco-Schools team installs composter to turn organic waste from canteens into nutritious compost
16.06.23 - 15h23
Lusófona University is reinforcing its commitment to sustainability by continuing its Composting Project. The initiative, led by the Faculty of Engineering's Eco-Schools Team, aims to valorise the organic waste generated in the campus canteens, transforming it into nutrient-rich compost.
The new composter, recently installed next to the University's organic vegetable garden, aims to use organic waste to fertilise the soil, promoting organic farming and contributing to carbon capture by the plant species grown.
As well as revitalising previously abandoned land, this initiative supports the diversity of plant species on campus and highlights the environmental benefits of organic farming. This action demonstrates Lusófona University's commitment to creating a greener and more sustainable environment.
All together we will make Lusófona more Sustainable!
