Study the Impact of Climate Change on Infrastructure

Climate change is a reality we have to deal with, giving rise to a number of challenges in all sectors of activity, and the construction of structures and buildings is no exception. Climate change is considered one of the greatest threats to the comfort and health of our buildings and infrastructure.

Although the uncertainty associated with the magnitude of the change is great, that our climate changes is unequivocal. As a result, making buildings and infrastructure (and their surroundings) more resilient to climate change is a priority for landlords and authorities. Early and planned climate adaptation action will increase the comfort, durability and safety of our buildings and infrastructure and therefore save money and ultimately lives.

In the area of Civil Engineering, at Lusófona University, numerous research projects are developed that seek to understand and study the true impacts of these same changes, on infrastructure such as buildings, bridges or roads.
