Lusófona University is continuing its sustainability and energy consumption reduction strategy, which began last year, with the replacement of fluorescent lamps with LEDs in yet another building on campus. This initiative, known as ‘relamping’, aims to replace high-consumption light bulbs with low-consumption LEDs, while maintaining the original brackets.
The relamping process allows for a significant reduction of around 90 per cent in total energy consumption. The switch to LED bulbs, which are longer-lasting and more efficient, is in line with the university's objectives of promoting sustainable practices and reducing its ecological footprint.
Universidade Lusófona intends to continue this transformation in all the buildings on campus, contributing to a more sustainable and energy-efficient environment.
