Objectives
Objectives
Study of the main rock properties as well as of the geological characteristics of the massifs in order to solve engineering and environmental problems arising from interaction with human activities. Prediction of geological accidents, thinking on their prevention or mitigation. Introduction of fundamental concepts, methods and practices of geology and knowledge of geomorphological processes that allow the acquisition of the following skills: understanding the origin, generic constitution and evolutionary dynamics of the Earth. Understand, characterize and identify the main types of minerals and rocks, including the processes of their formation. Understand and know how to define the soil characterizing parameters, as well as the processes of geological and geotechnical recognition and exploration. Understand the dynamics of surface and underground water. Interpret and understand the geomorphological processes.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
Teaching methodologies and assessment
Whenever appropriate, the methodologies to support the teaching-learning process are student - centred: in the development of their autonomy, both at the level of acquisition as well as at the level of application of knowledge. In this context, students will often be encouraged to carry out a set of practical work (individual and group).
