The structure of organizations. The management of human resources. Learning organization. Marketing. Accounting and finance. The financial calculation. Management of productive activities. Stock management.
  • Objectives

    Objectives

    The curricular unit aims to provide students fundamental concepts of economics and management. This provides an overview of the functioning of the economy and its importance for all actors involved. It is also intended that students master the main concepts of Management and have an integrated view of their different areas. In terms of knowledge, skills and competences to be acquired, the student should be able to interpret concepts, theories and policies associated with the functioning of the economy and the overall management of companies. At the end of the course, students should: 1. Understand the functioning of the economy, framed by the principles of the law of supply and demand; 2. Understand the different functional areas of Management and how they interconnect. 3. Be able to apply a set of concepts, methods and management tools. 4. Be able to apply the methods and tools of Management to the analys is and discussion of cases.
  • Teaching methodologies and assessment

    Teaching methodologies and assessment

    In the teaching-learning process, methodologies will be used that include: expository classes, with presentation by the teacher of the theoretical frameworks of reference; participatory classes (Problem-Based Learning (PBL), Cooperative Learning, Concept and Mind Maps, …), where students are encouraged to participate in the discussion of various topics and are privileged with practical examples applied to the job market, in addition to solving exercises; active classes with individual and group assignments.   Seminar: 25% Case study: 25% Test: 50% Group work with individual assessment. Papers presented and discussed publicly in class. Each group will have 15 min. for presentation of the work, followed by discussion. The report must not exceed 2,000 words, including references.
