The aspect of economic and social cohesion is intrinsic to european construction and represents an essential aspect for the effective achievement of the objective of integrating european economies and peoples in the European Union integration project. The study and knowledge of the principles related to the pursuit of economic and social cohesion, the institutions and bodies involved, as well as the instruments created for their implementation European funds is essential for the training of graduates in European Studies, Lusophone Studies and International Relations.

Economic, Social and Territorial Cohesion and Regional Policy. The Lisbon Strategy and the Europe 2020 Strategy. The Europe 2030 Strategy and the Portugal 2030 Strategy. The European Economic and Social Council (EESC) and the Committee of the Regions. The European Structural and Investment Funds (ESI Funds); the Managing Authority; the Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF); and the Operational Program. The European Social Fund+ (ESF+); the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD); the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF); the Cohesion Fund (CF);the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF); the Solidarity Fund; the PRR.

Objectives
Objectives
This course aims to contribute to the understanding of the essentiality of European economic and social cohesion as an essential basis for the harmonious and balanced development of the Member States and the EU, as well as for the knowledge of the European Funds. Beyond the general and essential framework of economic and social cohesion, students should be able to identify existing European Funds, their objectives and applicable rules.
