The UC TPD II - Gymnastics II integrates the second year of the 1st cycle of the students¿ formative path in Physical Education and Sports. It provides essential basic skills, transversal to professional performance, including the following areas of action and intervention domains: knowledge, interpretation and application. _Basic Gymnastics activities with focus on gymnastic elements of lower complexity, intervening in the domains of scientific Knowledge, pedagogic and didactic in basic gymnastic activities; _pedagogic practical activities in real context for pre-school and 1st cycle, making use of Gymnastics session/class structure for children and youth in school age and methodological progressions for teaching intervening; _the teacher¿s ways of intervention and the capacity to recognize and correct technical errors, using language and terminology that is appropriate for professional intervention, intervening.

CP1 - Gymnastic apparatus: Characteristics, handling, safety measures Cp2 - Floor Exercise: Salto forward tucked, Salto backward tucked Vault Exercise: Jumping between hands tucked; Jumping axis Horizontal Bar and Uneven Bars: Mounts; Elements in support; Elements near the bar Swings in support; Dismounts in support to the rear Connecting various elements Beam: Displacements; Gymnastic elements: Jumps; balance; Turns; Roll forward; Wheel Mounts; Dismounts; Connecting various elements Mini - Trampoline: Straight bounce; Tucked jum;Straddle jump;Full twist; Front tuck; Back tuck Acrobatic Gymnastics: (Pairs, Trios, Choreography with music) Rhythmic Gymnastics: (Hoop, Rope, Ball, Choreography with music) CP3 - Organization structure of a class. Security and reduction of risk in intervention; Organization and operation of a class with the following parameters: pre-requisites, technique, progressions, characteristic errors, manual intervention, variables.

Objectives
Objectives
Oa1) Know, interpret and correctly apply the scientific, pedagogic and didactic knowledge in basic gymnastics activities, making use of the appropriate language and terminology. Oa2) acquire and apply the knowledge referent to methodological progressions, including knowledge in general physical preparation, music and choreography, inherent to the correct execution of the hymnic elements approached in the didactics of the curricular unit. Oa3) Know, interpret and correctly apply the methods of intervention of the teacher in the conception and application of a gymnastics session/class structure for children and youth in school age, making use of different levels of planning. Oa4) acquire basic notions of safety in practice and correct use of the methods of intervention of the teacher.

Different teaching methodologies (ME) will be used: Demonstration, experimentation and practical exercise (ME1) Pedagogical practices in a simulated situation of planning, organization and intervention within the scope of teaching/learning (ME2) Resolution of practical cases (ME3), Visioning and discussion documentaries/videos (ME4), Small group activities (ME5), Feedback information provided by the teacher about the work carried out (ME6).
