Objectives
LO1: Understand the different stages of human development (HD), from infancy to adulthood and old age. LO2: Identify and analyze the biological, psychological, social, and cultural factors that influence HD. LO3: Familiarize oneself with the main theories and models of development relevant to SS. LO4: Integrate concepts from Developmental Psychology (DP) into the practice of SS, recognizing the importance of this understanding in working with different age groups. LO5: Develop observation and assessment skills for HD, especially in the context of challenging social situations. LO6: Explore strategies and interventions aimed at promoting positive human development in different life stages, with a focus on the needs and challenges faced in SS. LO7: Understand the cultural and ethical dimensions of HD, recognizing diversity and respecting different life experiences. LO8: Stimulate the ability for critical reflection on interventions and SS practices in the light of DP.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
Active methodologies that encourage active student participation in the learning process are chosen, providing a more dynamic and engaging experience, namely: Problem-Based Learning (PBL), Project-Based Learning (PBL), Case Studies, Cooperative Learning, Flipped Classroom, Role-playing, and Debates and Discussions. When developing active methodologies, the aim is to create a more participative learning environment, fostering student engagement and a deeper understanding of the topics covered. Assessment Mode: Continuous Assessment: (i) Attendance and Participation - requires 75% attendance; (ii) Written Test (50%); (iii) Written Assignment with Oral Presentation and Defense (50%). Final Assessment: (i) Written Test (100%).
