The aim is to introduce an understanding of the usefulness of architecture and the relationships between its forms and ways of experiencing spaces, its implementation in the territory, and construction techniques, allowing this knowledge to be related to the historical perspective and applied critically in the Project. The main theme of the semester is collective housing: urban insertion, urban morphology, the study of dwellings, distribution systems, module associations, typological options. The objective is to understand the process of developing a complex project, from a contemporary formal idea, on a scale of 1/200, to the details of construction, in a challenging urban situation, to the development of these ideas in the construction plan, in a realistic way. The exercise focuses on the development of one of the buildings studied in the previous semester, with special attention to detail, structural and construction characteristics.

In summary, the exercise seeks to: - reflect on issues of urban integration, urban morphology, and architectural housing typology; - think of the project as a whole between theory and constructive pragmatism, questioning the idea, program, territory, and materiality of the project; - integrate knowledge of the disciplines of Construction and Structures into the project in the expression of the formal ideas of the project; - understand the notion of order: the relationship between functional organization, definition, and structure. - deepen the concepts of composition, measurement, and module; - consolidate a methodology of spatial composition; - develop sensitivity to the plastic qualities of materials. During classes, teachers (and classmates) will critique the project, always encouraging the investigation of relevant case studies—both in terms of form and theoretical basis—and the development of the design at all proposed scales (1/200, 1/50, 1/20, and 1/2).

Objectives
Objectives
The skills to be developed are related to the practice of the Project (conceptual, theoretical, and instrumental values): - developing critical observation and analysis skills; - understanding and analyzing different residential grouping systems, involving both an understanding of the mechanisms of aggregation and the consequences of their application, such as density, organization, and urban form. - develop critical observation and analysis skills; - ability to investigate simultaneously - site, program, and materiality; - ability to integrate materiality and its representation into the idea and form; - understand the theme of collective housing as the axis of social life in cities and among people, assimilating the basic requirements of habitability and basic housing programs. - ability to integrate into the idea and form the knowledge acquired in other disciplines that converge in the project, namely Construction and Structures.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
Teaching methodologies and assessment
The methodological model of the CU is aligned with the basic principle of the Bologna Process, promoting the transition from teaching centered on the passive acquisition of knowledge to a paradigm focused on the development of skills. The methodology will be based on: - a direct, personal, and individualized teacher-student relationship, valuing the particularities of each one; - the deepening of design and other methods of understanding the urban unit under study; - the presentation of intervention proposals and comparative criticism between students' work in parallel with the development of the project and its rationale, with the participation of teachers from various disciplines that converge in the project; - the integration of interdisciplinary knowledge into the architectural proposal; - presenting and discussing exemplary projects in solving the problems under study.
