    The curricular unit is related to the protection of human rights in a more in-depth perspective than that of a bachelor degree , especially concerning the current problems of pre-trial detention, the hospitalization of offenders in a psychiatric institution, emigration, counter-terrorism, gender equality, domestic violence, minors in conflict with the law, the right to a fair trial, extradition, protection of the environment, the right to respect for private and family life, among others, and to know, in a comparative perspective, the national and the European Court of Human Rights' case law applicable in this area. Special emphasis will also be given to the procedural aspects relating to the complaint to the European Court of Human Rights.

Access to the Law in matters of Human Rights 4.1 Access to Law as a human right  4.2 The Complaint at ECHR (procedural requirements) 5. Analysis of cases in light of the ECHR and ECHR Jurisprudence:  Death, Torture, Inhuman and Degrading Treatment; Slavery, Servitude and Forced Labor; Climate change; Freedom of expression; Extradition; Collective Expulsion; Illegal Deprivation of Liberty; Judicial errors and  Delay in legal proceedings.

    Pave the way for professional, academic and research expertise in human rights. Endow students with the skills of understanding current human rights issues relevant to a master's degree in legal criminal sciences. To prepare them for apllying the acquired knowledge to legal practice as well as to provide them with consistent training, critical and analytical skills in this area of law.
