Syllabus
1. Concept definitions and characteristics of quality. Costs of quality. Evolution of total quality management (TQM). 2. Classical models of quality. Array of quality management. 3. Tools and techniques of Quality importance of quality tools and techniques in solving structured problems. Classic Quality Tools (Flowchart; Data collection sheets, histogram, Pareto chart, Ishikawa diagram, scatter plot, Cards). Quality and metrology. 4. Quality Management Systems (ISO 9000 series) 5. Total quality programs (EFQM model) 6. Evaluation of the quality.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
The classes will be theoretical and practical. The presentation of the matter shall be based on bibliography established base and previously communicated to students. Students are encouraged to participate in the discussion of the concepts and your application. The practical lessons are based on illustrative issues from the application of those concepts in current situations of management of organizations. Attendance and class participation Assessment will consider cumulatively the attendance and participation of students in the classroom. Determination of final classification: Test: 60% Work: 40%
