Class Operations Management

Operations Management (OM) deals with the design, management, and continuous improvement of processes used to create and deliver to clients products and services that a firm produces.

Process analysis and management. Process analysis and design. Quality management: Statistical process control. Methodology 6-Sigma for continuous improvement. Aggregate Planning: Chase and level strategies. Short - term scheduling: Scheduling: Priority rules for dispatching jobs. Waiting lines: Models MM1 and MMS. III. Supply Chain Management. Concepts. Lean techniques: JIT, Kanban. Inventory Management: ABC analysis; EOQ; Probability models for independent demand: fixed quantity with constant and random demand, and fixed - period with random demand systems. Dependent demand models.

During classes students work in groups and are changelled to apply the contents taught to real life problems .
