The Educational Sociology course aims to prepare students with theoretical, methodological, and practical knowledge for a critical and sociological analysis of educational processes in contemporary societies. Focusing on the relationship between society and education, it addresses how social, cultural, and political structures influence the educational system, both in formal education contexts and in informal education settings. The course prepares students to work in educational, community, and social contexts, promoting inclusive and reflective practices, enabling future social educators to understand and intervene in the social dynamics that impact education, making them agents of change.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
Teaching methodologies and assessment
The innovative methodologies for the teaching-learning process include: a) Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL), allowing students to conduct a complete research study, promoting autonomy and critical thinking; b) debates and discussions on pre-readings, encouraging critical reflection and the application of sociological theories; c) the construction of a sociological concepts dictionary, enabling students to become familiar with the vocabulary and deepen their understanding of key concepts; d) the completion of a written exercise in class to assess knowledge and evaluate students' progress. The use of a diversified methodology fosters active, collaborative, and reflective learning, developing practical and theoretical skills essential for sociological analysis in the educational field.
