    The Curricular Unit Family and Community Education has particular relevance within the scope of this Degree, since it trains professionals who will work in the community area, in which families and education have a fundamental role. It is, therefore, necessary that they acquire and deepen knowledge in relation to the importance of family and school in the construction of citizenship, taking into account globalization and accelerated social changes, for which the concepts, theories and intervention techniques in the community, acting as support networks, are essential.

    -Family, social representations and common sense; -Family and its different conceptual approaches; -The socio-historical construction of the family; -The family in the past and in contemporary societies; -Social history of family social representations; -Notions and concepts of Family Education; -Family education, maternity and paternity; -Family and gender roles; -Family, Community and Emerging Social Issues; -Social differences; -Vulnerability and exclusion situations; -Fundamentals of Inclusion; -School, family and community: dynamics that facilitate inclusion; -Multicultural school and construction of citizenship.

    Objectives

    -Know parenting styles. -Analyze the causes of current family problems, being able to fit them into the different existing family models. -Deepen the dimension of family education and interrelate it with community dimensions. -Know the main theories associated with various family and gender themes. -Understand the notion of the social and cultural nature of different types of family, marital and parental relationships. -Analyze the importance of articulation/cooperation between the School, the Family and the Community as a dynamic that facilitates inclusion. -Reflect on the role of the Social Educator in relation to family and community education.
  • Teaching methodologies and assessment

    Teaching methodologies and assessment

    Privileging active methodologies, individual and group work derives from texts previously sent by the teacher through Moodle. Group work is presented in ppt and discussed in the class group. They start from problem situations posed by students or the professor, from texts, from viewing documentaries, also taking into account the exhibition for presentation / systematization of content. The evaluation is continuous, with the following evaluation moments: -Group work, presented on the Moodle platform and orally (30%). -Individual, written work (30%). - A written, individual and in-person final work (40%). The evaluation parameters of the works are: presentation (3); content (13); synthesis (4). It is planned to carry out an appeal exam and a special exam for students who so wish, in accordance with the University's General Assessment Regulation.
