The Patternmaking Curricular Unit intends to teach students the technical principles of constructing garments through draping. These principles serve two main objectives: a coherent design presentation and an understanding of the processes involved in the patternmaking area through draping.

Syllabus
1. Patternmaking techniques, tools, and equipment to model. The flat pattern, the factors to be considered in the development of patternmaking, the influence of types of fabric in patternmaking, and the tools and equipment for patternmaking. 2. The techniques of patternmaking the mannequin: the draping, creation of the second skin of the mannequin. 3. Creation of a library of garment details. 4. Manipulation of garments and details. Practical exercises: development of skirt and dress. 5. Creation of a dress, considering the garments and details taught. Development of pattern extraction through draping.

Objectives
This UC aims to: 1. Know the main patternmaking techniques, as well as the tools and equipment of patternmaking; 2. Develop garment details library 3. Know and develop the knowledge of draping techniques and patternmaking in mannequin: development of a second skin of the mannequin 4. Know and develop manipulation techniques of a skirt in a mannequin 5. Develop extraction of patterns of the pieces developed in draping 6. Know and deepen the techniques of draping and patternmaking

Teaching methodologies and assessment
The course will be developed through theoretical-practical, expository, and demonstrative sessions, as well as practical work of an experimental nature developed during class sessions. Foster also facilitates participatory learning and promotes teacher/student interaction. Tutorial teaching will be fundamentally used to monitor the project that will be carried out throughout the course unit.
