This UC proposes a design approach based on artistic research methods. - Make known a set of authoring and creation tools, enabling the development of multimedia content with an understanding of image, video, sound, and their supports. Highlight the importance of relationships between the various areas and languages of the image; Present the potential of the archive in its most varied accessions; Provide a space for analysis and discussion around visual objects from the spheres of cinema, photography and video; Perform theoretical exercises and practical projects that reflect the inter-relational and multimedia nature; Provide the project environment that provides the development of exercises that reflect an investigative method;

Objectives
Enable the student to: - Understand the importance of the languages of photography, cinema and video in the universe of image; its limits, borders and interdisciplinarity; - Recognize the image as an object of thought and knowledge; - Understand the archive and its possibilities as raw material; - Recognize the significant historical moments and main players responsible for the interrelationship of multimedia variants; - Develop analytical skills before an image, regardless of its nature; - Know the main historical moments in the association and interrelationship of image languages; - Be able to produce theoretical and practical research exercises;

Teaching methodologies and assessment
As the curricular unit has a practical nature, the main methodology aims to develop technical and practical skills where the promotion of analysis and criticism is always present. Statements for practical exercises and subsequent presentation to the class. Group conversations and discussions. Study visits and presence at the film club.
