The Internship IV and Report course unit constitutes a core component supporting the teaching and learning process in the internship context. Its purpose is to provide pedagogical guidance throughout the internship experience, as well as to support the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the activities carried out. In parallel, it fosters critical reflection on the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and professional values specific to Social Work, contributing to the consolidation of an ethical, evidence-based, and contextually grounded practice.

Syllabus
The Internship IV and Report course unit includes a practical component comprising 540 hours of internship in an institutional setting under professional supervision. This allows for the deepening of Social Work intervention and the consolidation of professional skills. In parallel, a pedagogical and scientific supervision component is led by a faculty member, focusing on critical reflection and the integration of theory and practice. The content covered includes: analysis of emerging social issues in the internship context; reorientation of the work plan based on the evaluation of intervention and research; construction of knowledge through the articulation of theoretical references and professional practice; reflective and critical analysis of the internship experience; support in the development of a monographic report with methodological rigour and theoretical grounding; and discussion of ethical and deontological issues in professional practice.

1.Demonstrate the ability to plan and evaluate, on a biweekly basis, the objectives, activities, methods, techniques, and resources mobilized during the internship; 2.Deepen their understanding of specific social issues and critically engage with key theoretical contributions as essential foundations for defining objects of intervention and research; 3.Apply appropriate methods and techniques of observation, study, and social diagnosis within the internship context; 4.Define intervention and research strategies that respond to the needs of service users and are suited to the specific organizational and territorial context; 5.Produce a well-founded monographic report based on the identified needs of users, situated in their temporal and spatial contexts; 6.Develop professional attitudes, values, and ethical conduct consistent with the principles of Social Work; 7.Cultivate a critical and self-reflective approach to their performance and to the evaluation of the internship experience.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
The course unit adopts innovative methodologies centred on experiential, reflective, and collaborative learning. The practical component, comprising 540 hours of internship in an institutional setting, serves as a key pedagogical strategy, enabling the consolidation of professional skills and intervention in real and complex contexts. Pedagogical and scientific supervision is carried out through group and individual tutorials, using active methodologies such as case analysis, reflective portfolios, experience-based narratives, competency mapping, and guided discussions. These methodologies aim to deepen the integration of theory and practice, foster autonomy, self-assessment, and critical thinking, and reinforce ethical and deontological commitment to the profession. The use of digital tools complements the process by encouraging the sharing of experiences, collaboration, and continuous learning.
