    This CU aims to establish an area of integrated development of knowledge within the Cutaneous Biology. With a marked multidisciplinary character, this CU aims to deepen the concepts that are the base of Experimental Dermatology, which is the foundation of the modern Cosmetology. The intimate relationship that is established with some areas of drug delivery make this CU essential to the development of pharmaceutics.

    Objectives

    After frequence of this CU, the student will have acquired the following competences: knowledge of the regulatory frame of cosmetic products deep knowledge of skin physiology and phatophysiology selection of the most adequate cosmetologically active constituents of a cosmetic formulation provide sound advice on dermocosmetics choice of the most adequate methodologies to assess efficacy and safety of cosmetic products

    Teaching methodologies and assessment

    Flipped classrooms, where traditional lectures are replaced with interactive online content and face-to-face discussions, promoting active learning and deeper understanding. Project-based learning, which allows students to apply theoretical knowledge to challenges in the professional world, promoting critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Students are challenged to develop a cosmetic product website in one of the assignments. A role-play strategy is applied to a setting of indicating a cosmetic in the community pharmacy. In the field work, the students attend a workshop where they have a chance to interact with the professionals.
