Presentation
The Drug Delivery curricular unit aims to systematize the state of the art of delivery systems for the various types of therapeutic agents (drugs and biopharmaceutical products), considering the diverse possible routes of administration. As medicine specialists, this course is essential in the training of pharmacists, as it addresses how the properties of delivery systems can be modulated in order to develop the optimized system for the desired pharmaceutical application.

Objectives
Objectives
The curricular unit of drug delivery aims to consolidate and interrelate the areas of knowledge related to the design and optimization of delivery systems for the different types of therapeutic agents taking into account the desirable route of administration. After attending this curricular unit, it is intended that the student has acquired the following knowledge, skills and competences: - understand the properties of the delivery system to optimize taking into account the characteristics of the therapeutic agent; - understand the properties of the delivery system to optimize considering the route of administration to be adopted; - discern the new drug delivery technologies available for the various routes of administration.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
Teaching methodologies and assessment
The UC has theoretical and theoretical-practical classes. The theoretical classes are magisterial encompassing the syllabus and the curricular unit's objectives, with stimulation of the active participation of students based on the use of interactive software, such as mentimeter, kahoot and kialo. The theoretical-practical classes deepen the contents, integrating them by using the project-based active learning strategy. A current problem is presented in the first class and students are divided into groups to present a solution to this problem taking into account a specific route of administration.
