The emergence of photography contributed decisively to sharpening the crisis of aesthetic categories. New productivities and discursive formations, together with new means of circulation and organisation of objects, motivate a re-reading of Aesthetics as a methodology for apprehending the relation between things. This curricular unit aims to problematise this inquiry, bringing together theoretical knowledge and analytical tools for the reading and representation of contemporary issues raised by Aesthetics, as an expanded field for an ontological investigation into the nature of the technical gesture and its inscription in plastic language.
