Presentation
This Curricular Unit aims at the transdisciplinary understanding of the State and globalization, in the light of legal and economic discourse and a methodological plural affirmation. The heterogeneity of these themes requires different argumentative theories and reflection on transnational explanations of a pluridimensional nature, as well as prospective proposals on governance and global security, democracy, economics and law. Themes such as global capitalism and the coordination of economic policies in the European Union, the Network-State, the tensions of globalization and human inequalities, must be its matrix. Therefore, it is intended to promote a more complete understanding of the scope and boundaries of the functions of the State in an increasingly globalized world, including the key concepts of globalization, public management and multilevel governance.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
Teaching methodologies and assessment
This course aims to present and discuss the themes outlined in the discipline's syllabus, with the involvement of master's students being relevant. The assessment is continuous and requires the preparation of an individual written work of 15-20 pages on a topic related to the State and Globalization, submitted on the Moodle Platform, with mandatory presentation and discussion in class. The work, as a part of the evaluation, becomes important as it allows the master's student to develop research skills, on one hand, and on the other hand, by presenting the work in class, they not only share the results of their research but also contribute to the acquisition of new knowledge. Students with special status provided for by law or regulation that exempts them from mandatory attendance to classes, but who wish to be included in the continuous assessment regime, must inform the Professor of the course as soon as they become aware of this fact.
