Class Interreligious Dialogue and Human Rights

  • Presentation

    Presentation

Dialogue between different religions has always been important for achieving the main objectives emanated with the creation of the UN: "Maintaining international peace and security" (Art. 1, §1). Peace between religions makes it possible to fulfil this fundamental objective, peace among peoples. On the other hand, in compliance with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, peace between religions will only be a reality if human rights are put on the table, taking into account, in a particular way, Art. 18 "Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right implies the freedom to change religion or conviction, as well as the freedom to manifest religion or conviction, alone or in common, both in public and private, by teaching, practice, worship and rites". In this UC, it is intended to combine interreligious dialogue, so necessary, and human rights, in order to world peace and security.
