Theme 1: School and society: production and reproduction of the conditions of change. The school in the construction of the modern nation-state. School model and ‘school grammar'Description of contents Theme 2. The historical construction of the social sciences, from the 18th century to 1945. The founding classics (Marx, Weber, Durkheim). Debates and crossroads of the present Theme 3 Inequalities and ideologies Theme 4. School inequalities and sociological explanations. Pierre Bourdieu's theory of cultural reproduction Theme 5 The New School movement and critical and emancipatory pedagogies: Dewey, Freinet and Freire Theme 6 Globalisation and neoliberalism. . Ensuring structured and systematised information on the topics under analysis. Articulate the development of this information with the research areas favoured by the participants. . Identify theoretical references and guidelines and create conditions for their appropriation. . Articulate the theoretical contributions with the social (and institutional) practices and professional backgrounds of the participants, as well as with ongoing or future research.

Informed debates based on the bibliography distributed during the Seminar (online) . Personal (critical) summaries of the work topics (online) . .
