This course covers most fire safety topics, as students are required to complete a project, which requires them to work on all topics. Its existence arises as a natural consequence of two other courses, also in the field of fire safety, allowing for the consolidation of all fundamental aspects of fire safety in buildings, necessary for a better understanding of the topics covered in other courses.

Objectives
Objectives
The project / study of fire safety in buildings has been enshrined in national legislation for many years, and designers must prepare their safety studies on the basis of this legislation. The curricular unit "Fire safety in Buildings Design" is intended to enable students to consolidate the knowledge acquired in "Regulation of Fire Safety in Buildings" by carrying out a project for a building in the 4th risk category, the highest provided for in the regulations. During this construction process, students should develop a critical spirit about these regulations and acquire the necessary skills to apply them correctly, regardless of the type of use of the building and its risk category. They should build their project work in stages, with close monitoring to help them achieve the objectives of this curricular unit

Teaching methodologies and assessment
Teaching methodologies and assessment
A tutorial model is proposed, as it more effectively fulfils the purpose of developing this work, which is carried out individually and requires more personalized support. Thus, students will have the opportunity to progressively build up their project, with close monitoring by a tutor, who will be one of the master's lecturers chosen by the student. In this solution, theoretical-practical classes are intended to give the student the opportunity to develop parts of the project in the classroom, under the supervision and monitoring of the teacher. They will serve the teacher to be aware of the state of development of each project and assess the student's difficulties. In turn, the tutorial sessions serve as a complementary support instrument for the student's work throughout the entire curricular unit
