Presentation
This course aims to show the intimate relationship between construction techniques and architectural forms, in other words, how the History of Architecture has always been inseparable from the History of Construction. The programme, therefore, includes a series of theoretical lessons on the life of forms (Focillon), where concrete examples will be used to enable more effective learning and a more conscious and informed approach to project practice. This link will be further strengthened by the development of practical work, which will take place throughout the semester, based on the design process underway in Project V.

Objectives
Objectives
Reading architecture and placing works in the context of their production is one of the course's main objectives. The establishment of links with Project V to contribute to the conscious and informed choice of solutions during the design process. The ability to communicate the project by articulating different media (such as drawing, text, collage, etc.) and to construct syntheses and operative reflections that allow for the eventual development of a dissertation.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
Teaching methodologies and assessment
The idea is to develop an essay (text, drawing, photograph, collage, etc.) that, based on the current project, identifies the main issues raised by the ‘commission’ and reflects on the proposal presented, taking into account one or more of the themes mentioned in class (for example: type, model, scale, stratum, module, space, structure, ornament, concinnity, logical construction, the 'law of Ephesus', sustainability, etc.) and, whenever possible, using examples from the student's research for the project. This exercise could form the basis of possible future research.
