Journeys Piloto CECAM Inovatio Lusofona - NECS Graduate Workshop
International researchers and lecturers explore innovative methodologies in film and media studies and promote critical reflection
Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)
This workshop is part of the NECS Conference 2025: Cinema and Media Arts.
Universidade Lusófona is proud to host the 24th Graduate Workshop of NECS – European Network for Cinema and Media Studies, a prestigious international event dedicated to early-career researchers in the fields of film, visual arts, and media studies.
Under the theme “Navigation: Methodologies and Epistemological Pathways for Contemporary Film and Media Studies”, the Graduate Workshop invites participants to reflect on how research is conceptualised and conducted in this constantly evolving field. It will serve as a platform for methodological exploration, research process validation, and acquisition of new tools, fostering the exchange of ideas and critical perspectives within an international academic community.
In conjunction with the workshop, Universidade Lusófona will also host the pilot initiative of the Inovatio Axis of the CECAM – Centre for Studies in Communication, Arts and Media, which promotes pedagogical innovation in higher education and encourages academic diversity. This collaboration will enable a dynamic and enriching interaction between PhD and postdoctoral researchers and faculty members from CECAM consortium institutions, providing critical feedback on presented research and advancing new pedagogical practices aligned with current challenges in film and media scholarship.
The entire CECAM academic community is warmly invited to take part in this significant moment of training, sharing, and collective reflection, contributing to a stronger dialogue between emerging research and contemporary teaching practices. The workshop will conclude with a closing session exclusively for CECAM members, dedicated to evaluating the event and exchanging experiences.
