Presentation
The UC is focused on the underlying mechanisms of the disease process and on the morphological (macroscopic, cellular and ultrastructural), physiological and biochemical changes through which it manifests itself. It is important to understand the mechanisms involved in cases of disease, to study the patterns of different diseases and to establish an association between the factors that cause the disease and the phenotypic and/or morphological characteristics of each one of them. Knowledge of the mechanisms behind the observed symptoms of a disease is essential to be able to start researching a treatment.

Objectives
Objectives
Make known the cellular response to various types of harmful stimuli with a review of basic Biology concepts. • Understand the mechanisms involved in case of illness. Study the patterns of different diseases and establish an association between the factors that cause the disease and the phenotypic and/or morphological characteristics of each one of them. • Students should acquire skills in terms of knowledge of general pathology, including the pathological bases of diseases, cellular responses to various endogenous and exogenous stimuli, tissue renewal, regeneration and repair mechanisms, hemodynamic and homeostasis changes, the genetic architecture and molecular analysis, changes in the immune system, carcinogenesis and nutritional and environmental diseases. Therefore, they will be able to relate the morphology of the lesion with the harmful stimulus.
