Objectives
Objectives
The course aims to explore the main theories of social communication, understanding their historical bases and their contemporary developments. The aim is to apply the theories to the field of journalism, using them to analyse and interpret journalistic processes and practices in the current context, and thus enable articulation with other Curricular Units with which students will come into contact throughout the course. It is important for students to understand the structural changes and effects that each medium produces, both in terms of public behaviour and in the ways in which information is produced and disseminated. This skill is vital for students to be able to reflect clearly and critically on the contemporary media landscape.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
Teaching methodologies and assessment
The aim is to apply the cooperative learning methodology, basing part of the teaching on a teamwork methodology with common goals. In some sessions we will focus on collaboration, working in groups of three to six members, in which each person has a certain role. To achieve the defined goal, everyone must work in a coordinated way and resolve possible conflicts in order to find a better result.
