    This course discusses the concept of journalistic genre, comparing theoretical proposals with the configurations introduced by newsroom practices. The main journalistic genres of information and opinion are typified and a third classification - hybrids - is introduced. Cases from the Portuguese paper and digital press (daily newspapers, weeklies and newsmagazines) are also studied.

    Objectives

    Journalistic Genres is a theoretical-practical discipline that explores the specificity of the journalistic text according to a tripartite approach: analysis, theorization and construction. The objectives are: to critically identify the journalistic genres in the national daily and weekly press, differentiating construction angles through the editorial and market positioning of the titles; theorize the main informative and opinionated journalistic genres; practice the autonomous construction of journalistic genres
