What is digital journalism Characteristics and specificities of digital journalism. The convergence of written, video and sound communication in the digital environment. New models powered by digital The new models of writing, journalistic genres and organization of information. The importance of interactivity. The case of data journalism. The qualifications The new qualification requirements for journalists: the importance of knowledge of design, image, video and sound editing and programming. The social media manager. Research and analysis tools The research tools that are possible in the digital age. The importance and risks of social networks. Ethical and deontological problems The ethical and deontological problems raised in the era of digital journalism. The case of social networks and the distinction between communication and information. The challenge of credibility.

Objectives
Objectives
At the end of the semester, students should: Know the main Portuguese and global information sites; Know the challenges of accuracy and credibility faced by journalism in the digital age; Be able to structure an online publication with the characteristics and rules of a media organization; Be able to collect and validate information using digital media as well; Be able to produce journalistic pieces/ feature, communicating with readers through writing, image, infographics and sound; Recognize the importance of social networks to communicate with readers and their risks as sources of information.
