The UC aims to acquire the fundamental principles of Communication Design for printed and digital media, with a special focus on visual identity and web design. The transmission of this knowledge is based on the development of a practical project throughout the semester, using a software package adjusted to those contents and application of the theoretical bases taught.

- Design methodology and creative processes; - Typography - families, structure, design, application; - Composition - support grids, information hierarchy; - Image formats and colour systems for print and screen; - Essential vector drawing and image editing techniques and tools; - Technical attributes of accessibility and usability present in a web layout; - Workflows for online content creation; - Web content management techniques; - Necessary elements for the composition of a website - pages, articles, plugins, widgets, categories, labels, menus, templates, file management.

At the end of the semester students should be able to: - Identify and apply the fundamental components of a Communication Design project; - Apply with resourcefulness techniques and tools of hardware-software package necessary for the production of websites and application of visual identity in print and screen; - Apply solid creative, conceptual and technical skills in the proposed practical projects.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
Teaching methodologies and assessment
It is a theoretical-practical course that combines expository interventions of the programme contents with the elaboration of hardware-software package exercises necessary for the proposed projects. Throughout the semester, a practical project will be developed in the areas of visual identity and website, in groups of 2 students, with monitoring in class.
