    a) Descodificar os princípios básicos das componentes orais, gráfica e visual  da linguagem audiovisual. b) Entender em profundidade as condições da experiência oral (espontaneidade e comunidade) que determinam a prática televisiva das várias dimensões sonoras: som ambiente, música, voz off, efeitos sonoros.   c) Understand the effects of the graphic dimension of the written experience (subjectivity and distancing from the viewer). d) Understand, through the evolution of visual devices, the laws of image composition, in the grammar of the shot and the art of montage.
  • Objectives

    Objectives

    To take part in training future journalists for television, on different levels - technical, ethical and deontological. To identify the best practices of contemporary television journalism. To stimulate the ability to make critical analysis of journalistic practices, (of TV journalism, in particular). Understand the specificity of TV journalism, namely the always precarious relationship between sound, image and word. To master the language of television, video editing, audio and text. To fully understand the reportage’s genre. To develop an autonomous project of TV reporting, from the choice of the subject and the angle of approach to the edition of the TV report, through the sound and image edition. To fit the practices of TV journalism into a national’s journalism and television framework, and to present a broader perspective as a pillar of democracy .
  • Teaching methodologies and assessment

    Teaching methodologies and assessment

    The course combines various teaching methodologies. In the theoretical component, the classes have an expository vocation, complemented by creative work done individually or in groups by the students. All the work will be presented and assessed in class by the students themselves. The aim is to develop a capacity for critical analysis that is fundamental for a television professional.
