The aim of this course is for students to acquire the knowledge and develop competences that will enable them to plan, develop and evaluate sociocultural animation practices, so that they would be able to contribute for the promotion and the development of creative capabilities in the communities where they live and work, in different sociogeographical and socioeconomic contexts. Socio-cultural Animation is one of the most relevant areas of practice for Social Educators. This course also introduces students to two distinct but complementary areas: the area of content marketing and communication strategy, and digital image treatment. Throughout the course, communication concepts using social networks and how they can be used successfully in the field of communication will be worked on.

- Concept, origin and evolution of socio-cultural animation. - The educational dimension of socio-cultural animation. - Functions of the Socio-educational Animator. - Project work methodology and sociocultural intervention techniques. - The community as a promoter of socio-cultural animation. - The Socio-educational Animator, as an agent of social and educational transformation and inclusion.

- To plan, develop and evaluate socio-cultural animation practices. - To promote the development of critical thinking and creative skills among communities in different sociogeographic and socioeconomic contexts. - To create favorable conditions for the inclusion of people in situations of exclusion.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
Methodologies such as: - interactive methodologies for dialog and co-construction of knowledge between the social actors present; - simulations ("role-play") to present "cases", debate and reflect on different perspectives [active and creative learning methods]; - the use of the "project work" methodology on a theme or problem, using the technological and communication tools in use in society.
