The UC of the first year of the Degree in Educational Sciences / Social Education find the main reasons for its relevance and opportunity in the relevance that scientific knowledge assumes in all professional fields. They intend to be an area of promotion of critical thinking in a Social Education course since its areas of intervention are situated in terms of the uses of the Portuguese language, namely in terms of comprehension and written expression, and learning and handling scientific work procedures.
